Slitronia and Smairoland sign mutual recognition treaty

On 14 June 2025, the Great Kingdom of Slitronia and the Federal Republic of Smairoland signed a mutual recognition treaty. Slitronia was represented by Great King Johannes I, while Smairoland was represented by President Samir Cibis.

The Federal Republic of Smairoland is an Estonian micronation primarily located in the Viimsi region. Under the treaty, Slitronia agreed to recognize West Smairoland, East Smairoland, and the adjacent part of New Virginia as full territory. However, the remaining areas of Smairoland received only ceremonial recognition, meaning that while Slitronia will not consider these areas as part of Smairoland, it will refrain from taking action there without prior approval.

Slitronia's limited recognition stems from its commitment to the Edgbaston Convention, which it joined on 13 March 2022. Additionally, granting full recognition to Smairoland's claimed territories would have conflicted with the already recognized Estonian Republic of Kali.

This mutual recognition follows Smairoland’s “Ordinance and Mandatory Document No. 1,” in which President Cibis acknowledged the independence and sovereignty of Slitronia, along with other Estonian micronations. Earlier, on 7 June 2025, Slitronia had recognized Smairoland’s territorial presence within Estonia but did not fully recognize the state or its complete boundaries, as stated in the Sixth Great Royal Edict issued by Great King Johannes I.
